Frequently Asked Questions

 

  1. May we bring props to our session?

Props can add interest and personality to your photos. If props is something you are interested in incorporating, I suggest you bring whatever you think you might want to use. Before we start the session, we will go over what all you have brought and decide then what will and will not work. If you plan to include props, please let me know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly.

 

  1. How long do sessions last?

Session time varies depending on the time frame you want in front of the camera. My package options are 1 hour or 2 hours. Mini sessions are approx. 15-20 minutes.

 

  1. Will you suggest a location for the session?

I’d loved to share some of my favorite places! Don’t feel like you are limited to my suggestions. If there is somewhere you have in mind, by all means, let me know! Also, please keep in mind that when kids are involved, it’s best to stick to one setting, such as a park or playground. Pick a place where they are comfortable being themselves.

 

  1. How can we best prepare for the session?

Get yourself and your family excited about the session. Start talking it up a few days before hand. For those family members who are really reluctant, bring the family history aspect into it, and let them know how happy you are of their willingness to document your family in this moment in time. If you plan to go all out on a styled shoot and need to purchase new outfits for everyone, turn it into a family day. Get lunch, do your shopping, make some memories! It’s a good thing anytime you can involve the entire family in session prepping. 

 

  1. When is payment due?

There is a $160 non refundable fee due at time of booking. This fee is paid via online invoice and is what blocks your day and time slot off on my calendar. The balance (if applicable) is paid via online invoice and is due within 48 hours of the day of the photography session.

 

  1. I see a lot of ideas on Pinterest, can we suggest ideas for photos?

 During the pre-consultation we will discuss your vision for your session and my experience. If there is an image from Pinterest that you absolutely adore, you can send me the link and we will take a loot at it. I am always open to suggestions during sessions. If you want to try something, you want to do something specific... we will do it. My rule of thumb is we can try anything... and if it doesn't work it doesn't work, but at least we tried it! 

     

  1. Is there a time that is better than others for outdoor photo sessions? 

The best time for an outdoor photo session catching the "golden hour light" is either early in the morning or right around sunset. You can visit timeanddate.com to get an accurate time for sunset on your scheduled photo session day and then back up approx. 1 hour to 1.5 hours from that time for start time should you want the golden hour light. However if you just can't make that time work, or don't really care about the golden hour light, please know that I am a professional and have mastered how to use any light to get what I want from my images so there is no better time than others if your not concerned about the Golden Hour. Regardless of the time of your session, you want to make sure to factor in extra time just in case you happen to be running late, run into traffic, want to change outfits during the session, etc…

 

  1. What is included in a session?

All sessions include a pre-session consultation where we discuss the details of what you want to do, where and when. Travel to the location within a 30 mile radius of Spanish Fork, Utah. Locations further than that require a small travel fee that will be sent to you with your quote before we book.  My skills and expertise during the shoot, and basic culling and editing of the images.

 

After the session, you will be tagged in a few sneak peek images of my choosing on my FB business page. These images will be watermarked and are non printable. The sneak peek images will also be posted on Instagram, and if we are friends there, you will be tagged there too!

Finally, you will receive via email, a private proof/order album of all your images from your session. From this album you can order beautiful wall portraits, canvases, keepsake items, digital files with print release and more!

 

  1. What type of payment do you accept? 

I accept paypal and all major credit cards. Cash can be used to pay the balance the day of your session as long as arrangements have been discussed and made beforehand. Receipts will be sent for all payments regardless of how they are done.

 

  1. How long after the session until I see my photos? 

Turn around for your session images is by rule of thumb, 3-5 business days. However, when I am able to I try for 72 hours or less. I will usually post the few sneak peak images to social media within 12-24 hours of photographing the session, so make sure you are connected!

 

As your photographer, I go out of my way to make sure that your entire photo session with me from start to finish, is one of the most easy going, laid back and fun memory making experiences you could ever have!
