There are some situations in life when you want a photographer on hand, in person with a big DSLR camera. But for most of the other situation‘s in life, the best camera to have is the one that you have on you. And that typically is going to be the one in your back pocket on your cell phone.

Here’s a few tips to help you up level your iPhone photography game.

  • Learn how to use the focus and exposure controls by tapping on different parts of the screen while taking a photo. The 360 expire ent is a great exercise to incorporate with this.
  • Experiment with different angles and perspectives to add interest to your photos. Again… do the 360 experiment
  • Use the grid lines in the camera app to align your shots and learn to create balanced compositions. Turn this on by going to your phone settings, go to camera and there turn on grid.
  • Take advantage of natural light to illuminate your subject and create more visually pleasing photos. Most on camera flashes suck. They don’t have enough “reach” and are extremely harsh. Do your best to practice using natural light sources instead of flash.
  • Try editing your photos with the built-in editing tools to enhance color, brightness, and contrast. Once you’re comfortable with those tools find a third party edit specific app to start using. I recommend and prefer snapseed.
At some point in your cell phone, Photography game you can then start up level the lenses that you use. There are a lot of cell phone, Photography accessories that can be purchased on Amazon to add to your skill set when taking pictures with your phone. But we must remember that just as with anything it can be very overwhelming if we try to do it all at once.
I hope you found these tips helpful in your cell phone photography journey, If so please like/comment/share!
