ROI Matters

Headshots, Branding, Education

When its time to outsource..

Sometimes you get to a point in your business where you hit a wall. The wall of your own wheelhouse. It is that wall where you hit a spot that is not in your skill set and you realize you need some help. Now whether you go pro and find someone to help or start binge watching youtube videos, is totally up to the you. Today I want to talk about bringing someone in.

It can be very scary when trying to figure out who to bring in to help. There is the matter of budget, about getting the best ROI possible and then there is the matter of giving up control. Letting someone else come in and help work on your baby, your business.... it can be very stressful for some. Even if there are not hands on so to speak... its easy to get caught up in the worry of judgement or rejection, etc.

When it comes to your imagery, you can go both routes. Figure out how to do it yourself or find a professional to come in and help you. In this particular space, time and money and finding the perfect photographer is work in itself. You want to check their reviews, see what people are saying about working with them. You want to look at their work and make sure their style is what you want. Then you want to have some sort of chat with them to get a feel for their personality and energy. It is important to feel comfortable with whomever you choose. If you don't feel comfortable and get along with the photographer you pick, you wont have a good experience and that will show in your final images.

Last but not least you want to make sure there is some sort of model release/contract that you both sign. This protects both parties by ensuring that both parties understand exactly what all is involved. As in this is the price you pay, this is how many images you get, this is how you can use said images etc. If there is no contract, ask for one and if one is not available, probably find a new photographer. Over my many years in the industry most issues people have had have been due to miscommunications and no contract to clear them up when needed.

You work hard for your money. It is important to do your research when bringing in a professional to help in any aspect. It is important that you get your best bang for your buck. The best ROI possible.
