What happens during an Unstuck Session?
(And Why It Feels Different Than Coaching or Therapy)
One of the most common questions I get about Unstuck Sessions is:
"So... what actually happens during one?"
Fair question.
Because if you've never booked something called an "Unstuck Session" before, you're probably trying to figure out where it fits.
Is it coaching?
Therapy?
Consulting?
A brainstorming session?
The honest answer is:
Not exactly.
And that's what makes it so helpful.
First, Let's Talk About What It Isn't
An Unstuck Session isn't therapy.
I'm not diagnosing, treating, or helping you process mental health concerns.
It's also not traditional coaching.
I'm not walking you through a curriculum, holding you accountable to goals, or giving you a step-by-step blueprint for success.
And it's definitely not me sitting on a Zoom call pretending to have all the answers.
Instead, it's something much simpler.
A conversation.
A real one.
You Bring What's Real
You don't need to prepare.
You don't need a polished presentation.
You don't need to have your thoughts organized before you arrive.
In fact, most people book because they can't organize their thoughts.
You show up exactly as you are.
Messy thoughts welcome.
Half-finished ideas welcome.
Confusion welcome.
Overwhelm welcome.
That's what we're here for.
I Listen First
Most people spend their days talking to people who are waiting for their turn to speak.
This isn't that.
The first thing I do is listen.
Not just to what you're saying.
But to:
- What you're avoiding
- What keeps repeating
- What doesn't quite add up
- The patterns underneath the story
Because often the thing keeping us stuck isn't the thing we think it is.
Then We Start Untangling
Once I understand what's really going on, I start asking questions.
Sometimes they're practical.
Sometimes they're uncomfortable.
Sometimes they're surprisingly simple.
But they're designed to help you see your situation from a different angle.
Not because I have the answer.
Because often you already do.
It's just buried under stress, pressure, fear, expectations, or too many competing ideas.
Sometimes We Brainstorm
Sometimes people need clarity.
Sometimes they need ideas.
Sometimes they need both.
If brainstorming feels helpful, we'll do that too.
We'll explore possibilities.
Look at options.
Poke holes in plans.
Find blind spots.
Discover opportunities.
Whatever helps create movement.
No pressure.
No agenda.
Just support that meets you where you are.
The Goal Isn't Perfection
This is important.
The goal of an Unstuck Session isn't to solve your entire life in one conversation.
The goal is to leave with:
- More clarity
- More perspective
- More confidence
- More direction
- A next step that feels right for you
That's it.
And honestly?
That's usually enough.
Because once you're moving again, everything starts looking different.
Why People Say It Feels Different
I think the reason people enjoy these sessions is because they don't feel like work.
There's no performance required.
No pressure to impress me.
No expectation that you should already have things figured out.
It's more like sitting down with someone who can help you clear the fog.
Someone who can hold space for the messy middle without trying to force an outcome.
Someone who helps you reconnect with your own answers.
Who These Sessions Are For
These sessions are a great fit if:
- You've been thinking about the same thing for weeks
- You keep going in circles
- You feel overwhelmed by options
- You know something needs to change
- You need a sounding board
- You need perspective
- You need clarity
In short?
They're for people who are ready to move forward but can't quite see the path yet.
You Don't Have To Figure It Out Alone
Being stuck can feel incredibly isolating.
Especially when everyone around you seems to have a plan.
But clarity doesn't always come from sitting alone with your thoughts.
Sometimes it comes from having the right conversation.
And sometimes that's all it takes.
