Why Smart, Capable People Get Stuck
(And How to Find Your Next Step)
If you've ever stared at the same problem for days, weeks, or even months without making a decision, you're not alone.
And contrary to what you might be telling yourself, it doesn't mean you're lazy, unmotivated, or incapable.
In fact, some of the smartest, most capable people I know get stuck.
Entrepreneurs get stuck.
Creatives get stuck.
Moms get stuck.
Coaches get stuck.
Business owners get stuck.
Not because they don't know enough.
Because they're too close to the problem.
When you're living inside a situation every day, it's hard to see it clearly. Every option feels equally right. Equally wrong. Equally overwhelming.
Your brain starts opening tabs.
Then more tabs.
And before you know it, you've got 37 tabs open and none of them are loading.
Sound familiar?
What Being Stuck Actually Feels Like
Most people don't walk around saying:
"I'm stuck."
Instead, it sounds more like:
- "I don't know what to do next."
- "I have too many ideas."
- "I keep going in circles."
- "I can't make a decision."
- "Everything feels overwhelming."
- "I know something needs to change, but I don't know what."
On the surface, these sound like different problems.
But underneath?
They're often the same thing:
A lack of clarity.
Not because you're incapable of finding an answer.
Because you've been carrying the question by yourself for too long.
Why Advice Doesn't Always Help
When we're stuck, most of us do one of two things:
We either keep everything in our heads.
Or we ask everyone we know what they think.
The problem?
Neither usually creates clarity.
Keeping everything in your head creates more mental clutter.
Asking five different people often gives you five different answers.
Now you're carrying their opinions too.
What most people actually need isn't more advice.
They need perspective.
A chance to step outside the mental loop they've been trapped in.
You're Probably Closer Than You Think
One of the biggest misconceptions about being stuck is believing that you're missing something.
Usually, you're not.
Most of the time, the answer is already there.
It's just buried underneath:
- Overthinking
- Fear
- Pressure
- Expectations
- Mental noise
Once those things are cleared away, the next step often becomes surprisingly obvious.
Not easy.
But clear.
And clarity changes everything.
Sometimes You Need Another Brain
There are moments in life and business when you don't need another course.
You don't need another podcast.
You don't need another expert telling you what to do.
You need a conversation.
A grounded, judgment-free space where you can say what's actually going on and have someone help you sort through it.
Not fix you.
Not coach you.
Not tell you what you should do.
Just help you untangle the knot.
That's exactly why I created Unstuck Sessions.
What If You Didn't Have To Figure It Out Alone?
If you've been carrying the same question, decision, or challenge for longer than you'd like to admit, maybe the answer isn't trying harder.
Maybe it's getting a fresh perspective.
Maybe it's talking it through.
Maybe it's letting someone help you clear the fog so you can finally see your next step.
Because you're probably not stuck.
You're just too close to the problem.
